After Surgery

In The Recovery Area

After surgery, you’ll be taken to the recovery area where a nurse will monitor your progress. Once you’re awake, you’ll be asked to sit up and drink liquids.

Going Home

You’ll be able to go home the same day as your surgery. Children must be accompanied by parents. If you had a general anesthetic, you may feel
temporarily drowsy or nauseated.

CALL YOUR DOCTOR IF:

• You have drainage of pus or blood that lasts more than a few minutes.

• You have pain unrelieved by prescribed medication.

• You have a fever over 101F/38.3C
